Health Atlast, a multi-disciplinary healthcare organization serving patients across the US, has invited Amazing Workplace to conduct its first Employee Happiness Conversation. This Conversation will give employees the opportunity to anonymously share their feelings about working in Health Atlast locations, celebrating the things that are going well, and identifying areas that have room for improvement.
The Health Atlast Mission
Health Atlast was founded by practicing chiropractors to provide the most comprehensive, integrated care possible, bringing the best of all worlds to patients and uniting doctors to be successful.
After seeing many patients placed on multiple medications by numerous providers without much coordination, Health Atlast founders Stephanie and Wayne Higashi, both doctors of chiropractic, found a need to create a multi-disciplinary approach to healing where doctors work together as one to optimize patients’ health. This first-in-the-world approach has proven successful with patients — and admired by providers. Health Atlast has rapidly grown, with new clinics opening across the country each year.
The Importance of Measuring Happiness
With their roots in serving patients’ whole health needs, leadership at Health Atlast also recognized how important it is to stay connected with their employees’ need to be happy and successful in all areas of work. They understood that Employee Happiness isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s essential to productivity and teamwork. It ultimately leads to better patient outcomes.
To maintain and improve Employee Happiness, Health Atlast leadership wanted to talk with employees and understand how they feel about work, but getting accurate feedback presented a challenge. Traditional employee surveys only offered static questions that felt more like an exam than a way to talk to employees. What’s more, Health Atlast needed to connect with staff across the country and support leaders in addressing each clinic location’s unique needs.
Discovering Amazing Workplace®
Following their focus on people is what led Health Atlast to Amazing Workplace. Unlike traditional methods, Amazing Workplace uses a conversation-based approach to understand employee sentiment in a meaningful way. The idea of collecting feedback through dynamic conversations rather than rigid questionnaires resonated with Health Atlast’s leadership.
Excited by the potential to gain deeper insights and create a happier work environment, Health Atlast made the decision to partner with Amazing Workplace.
Launching the First Happiness Conversation
The Happiness Conversation invites employees to engaging, interactive discussions about working at Health Atlast. Through the conversation employees share their feelings and feedback, with results recorded anonymously and kept confidential.
The Conversation process provides detailed results showing how people feel across 10 topics, highlighting important trends and recommendations. Following the Happiness Conversation, Health Atlast will be working with Amazing Workplace to analyze the results, identifying the areas to maintain or improve. Then, Health Atlast will plan and roll out specific actions to address employee feedback, and they will share the results and plans throughout the organization.
What Comes Next — and a Commitment to the Future
Health Atlast isn’t stopping at plans. Leaders throughout the organization will follow up with announcements as feedback is addressed and actions are completed. When the time comes, Health Atlast will conduct their next Happiness Conversation, because measuring employee happiness isn’t just a one-time initiative — it’s the beginning of an ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.
